Why Vintage Gear?

Vintage gear is highly sought after due to the components being hard to find or no longer available and in production. The warmth and character that authentic vintage gear delivers is often duplicated but seldomly replicated.

With A Modern Touch

While our vintage hardware captures a unique sound, we use top-of-the-line gear for impeccable audio clarity and to have the option of mixing old with new technology depending on what the application calls for.

What Dub Room Studio Clients Have To Say

Meet Ryan Pate | Owner, Engineer, Musician

As an experienced engineer, he seeks to understand the direction you as an artist are going in and what tools will foster your unique sound.

Once a subcontractor for the U.S. Government with a secret clearance for submarines and surface ships, Virginia-Beach-Born Dub Room Studio founder & owner Ryan Pate began a new path driven by his passion for music.

His musical journey began playing guitar and drums opening for such acts as hip hop legends Run DMC, reggae’s Eek-A-Mouse, and funk’s George Clinton Parliament. His passion for recording, combined with his government technical engineering experience, led him to Los Angeles where he slept on couches to save up enough to purchase the best quality recording equipment available.

Success also came in producing music with tracks charting #5 in Austria, top 20 in Switzerland, top 30 in Germany, along with climbing 12 charts in Taiwan, China, and over 1300 TV song placements.

Today that grassroots passion remains the driving force behind the operation and the vibe of the Dub Room studio.
